1 2Android MediaRecorder Sample 3=================================== 4 5This sample uses the camera/camcorder as the A/V source for the MediaRecorder API. 6A TextureView is used as the camera preview which limits the code to API 14+. This 7can be easily replaced with a SurfaceView to run on older devices. 8 9Introduction 10------------ 11 12This sample shows how to use the [MediaRecorder][1] API. 13It uses the [Camera][2] as input source and displays a preview on a [TextureView][3] 14The sample features a button to capture the input and stop capturing afterwards. 15 16It demonstrates how to correctly gain control and release the camera. 17The sample also shows how to save the captured audio and video to persistant storage 18and basic error handling. 19 20 21[1]: https://developer.android.com/reference/android/media/MediaRecorder.html 22[2]: https://developer.android.com/reference/android/graphics/Camera.html 23[3]: https://developer.android.com/reference/android/view/TextureView.html 24 25Pre-requisites 26-------------- 27 28- Android SDK 27 29- Android Build Tools v27.0.2 30- Android Support Repository 31 32Screenshots 33------------- 34 35<img src="screenshots/screenshot1.png" height="400" alt="Screenshot"/> <img src="screenshots/screenshot2.png" height="400" alt="Screenshot"/> 36 37Getting Started 38--------------- 39 40This sample uses the Gradle build system.
