Each release of CLDR is a stable 119 release and may be used as reference material or cited as a normative reference by other 120 specifications. Each version, once published, is absolutely stable and will never change. 121 However, implementations may — and are encouraged to 122 — apply these corrigenda to their use of an appropriate version. 123 For example, an implementation may claim conformance to “CLDR 124 1.3, as amended by Corrigendum 1”.
125
Corrigendum 1: Time zone and Date Format Pattern Correction
126
In CLDR version 1.3, the policy was that for a given (resolved) locale, uniqueness is 127 required for time zone display names. That is, two different time zone IDs could not have 128 the same display name. This policy turns out to be overly strict, and did not allow for 129 customary names in cases where it does not cause a problem. The committee has relaxed this 130 policy so that where the parsing results would give the same GMT offset, the standard and 131 daylight display names can be the same across different time zone IDs.
132
The short and long time zone names for Europe/London and Europe/Dublin in the
133 en.xml
locale data file had been changed because of the old policy.
