1 2 Mesa 6.0.1 release notes 3 4 April 2, 2003 5 6 7 8Introduction 9------------ 10 11Mesa uses an even/odd version number scheme like the Linux kernel. 12Even-numbered versions (such as 6.0.x) designate stable releases. 13Odd-numbered versions (such as 6.1.x) designate new developmental releases. 14 15Mesa 6.0.1 just fixes bugs found since the 6.0 release. See the VERSIONS 16file for details. 17 18 19 20Device Drivers 21-------------- 22 23Mesa advertises itself as supporting OpenGL 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 or 1.5 24depending on the device driver's capabilities. For example, if the 25driver enables all the ARB extensions which are part of OpenGL 1.5 26then glGetString(GL_VERSION) will return "1.5". Otherwise, it'll 27return "1.4" or the next lower version that implements all required 28functionality. 29 30A number of Mesa's software drivers haven't been actively maintained for 31some time. We rely on volunteers to maintain many of the drivers. 32Here's the current status of all included drivers: 33 34Driver Status 35---------------------- --------------------- 36XMesa (Xlib) implements OpenGL 1.5 37OSMesa (off-screen) implements OpenGL 1.5 38FX (3dfx Voodoo1/2) implements OpenGL 1.3 39SVGA implements OpenGL 1.3 40Wind River UGL implements OpenGL 1.3 41Windows/Win32 implements OpenGL 1.5 42DJGPP implements OpenGL 1.5 43GGI implements OpenGL 1.3 44BeOS implements OpenGL 1.5 45Allegro needs updating 46D3D needs updating 47 48 49---------------------------------------------------------------------- 50
